Health care was doomed the minute GPs (family doctors) decided to stop visiting patients at home, at nights and at weekends. That decision forced sick and worried patients to use hospital emergency services and ambulance services – all of which duly failed. Until or unless GPs start providing a proper 24 hour service, health care will be in terminal decline. The medical establishment and the Government knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed GPs to stop offering a complete, traditional service to their patients.
